From SMAC, everyone have a great Thanksgiving Day!
It’s that time of year again where we give thanks to the things we love. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Remember to take a break from Club Penguin armies and spend time with your family. They have done much for you and love you, so it’s important to spend time with them. Don’t forget to pig out and eat as much as you like.
I thought I would do what everyone else does on holiday posts, post about the holiday’s origin. So here I go, looking at Wikipedia all so can just copy and paste for your own enjoyment. Perhaps you’ll read it, perhaps not. I’m sure most of us know how this holiday all started. Once again, please enjoy your time and relax on this day.
Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Thanksgiving is celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada. Because of the longstanding traditions of the holiday, the celebration often extends to the weekend that falls closest to the day it is celebrated. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Historically, Thanksgiving had roots in religious and cultural tradition. Today, Thanksgiving is primarily celebrated as a secular holiday.
Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, currently celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November by federal legislation in 1941, has been an annual tradition in the United States by presidential proclamation since 1863 and by state legislation since the Founding Fathers of the United States. Historically, Thanksgiving began as a tradition of celebrating the harvestof the year.
